FAQ

How do I lock a color swatch?

Click the lock button on any swatch card. Locked colors stay put when you Generate or Shuffle; unlock to let them change again.

How does the word cloud size words?

Words listed more often get a larger font. Separate entries with commas or new lines. Duplicate a word to weight it heavier, then click Recolor Cloud to paint it with your palette.

Does my palette stay after I close the tab?

Yes. The last palette and word list are saved in this browser’s localStorage so you can reopen the page and continue. Data never leaves your device.

Can I export CSS, PNG, and JSON?

Copy CSS writes :root custom properties for each swatch. Palette PNG exports the swatch strip; Cloud PNG downloads the word-cloud canvas. Export/Import JSON backs up palette, locks, and word list. Print hides studio chrome.

How do I check contrast or pull colors from a photo?

Use the Contrast checker for WCAG contrast ratios between two hex colors, and Palette from image to upload a photo and extract dominant colors in-browser. The CSS gradient generator builds linear-gradient snippets from your picks.

Do swatch colors print with their fills?

Yes. Print CSS uses print-color-adjust: exact so swatch backgrounds keep their fills when you print or Save as PDF (browser print settings must allow background graphics).
